Let's get cooking
Maple Campfire Movie-Night Popcorn
Stovetop popcorn with butter and a smoky-maple Maple Campfire shake.
- 10 min
- Serves 4 (about 12 cups)
- Made with Maple Campfire Pepper
Sweet, smoky and a little salty, like the concession stand at the drive-in. Pop it, butter it, shake it in a paper bag.
Serves: 4 (about 12 cups) · Prep: 2 min · Cook: 8 min · Total: 10 min
Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp neutral oil
- ½ cup popcorn kernels
- 3 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2½ tsp Maple Campfire Pepper
Steps
- Optional but worth it: whiz the Maple Campfire in a spice grinder for a few seconds so it clings better.
- Heat the oil and 3 kernels in a large lidded pot over medium-high. When the test kernels pop, add the rest, cover and take off the heat for 30 seconds so they all heat evenly.
- Return to the heat and shake the pot often, lid slightly ajar, until popping slows to 2 to 3 seconds between pops. Dump into a big bowl or paper bag right away.
- Drizzle with the melted butter, sprinkle the Maple Campfire over, then toss or shake until evenly coated.
A word on salt
No added salt. Maple Campfire covers it with butter alone.
Swap it
Make it buzz with Sichuan Buzz Pepper, 1 to 2 tsp per 8 cups.
